How many years has this product been on the market?
Our filter technology was created about7 years ago with the help of over 30 years of combined knowledge and testing.
Do you sell replacement parts like lids, reservoirs, and spigots?
Yes, we sell replacement parts on our website and provide a lifetime warranty on all products if there is a manufacture defect.
If products were damaged accidentally, OPTI will provide a discounted price for replacements with proof of purchase.
How many filters does a dispenser come with?
Each unit comes with 1 filter unless specific otherwise.
Why is there dust when I soak it?
This is the solid activated coconut carbon residue that may accumulate during production.
This is why we ask you to soak and rinse off the filter with cool water before use. This dust is not harmful and will go away once the filter is rinsed and primed properly.
Is there a glass option?

What's the difference between the Opti water dispenser and the Zero water dispenser?
The main differences between OPTI Water Filter and ZeroWater is that OPTI allows beneficial trace minerals to pass through while still removing the contaminants.
Please keep in mind that if you are using a TDS/PPM meter to test OPTI's water, it will show up very high due to the mineral content NOT contaminants.
A TDS/PPM meter measures ALL total dissolved solids (like minerals), but does NOT measure chemicals like pesticides and such.
OPTI also has a higher filter capacity (120 gallons & 200 gallons per filter) and will also OPTImize your water and provide you a higher pH level than ZeroWater.
Can it clean river water/rain water? I am looking for a cheaper alternative to Berkey.
Yes, it can. If the water has not been previous treated then it is recommended to boil the water regardless of the brand before consuming it.
What is the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) of water that has been filtered?
Our TDS/PPM is actually higher around 300 ppm (can vary depending on water source) because of the natural minerals we allow to pass through the filter. Our patents allow us to remove the bad contaminants, and identify the good minerals like beneficial trace minerals (calcium, magnesium, sodium, etc) that our bodies need and letting those pass through.
If you were to use a PPM/TDS meter it would read high, but we also do not recommend using a PPM or TDS to determine the quality of the water because those meters pick up all of the natural minerals in water.
Will this work with Well Water as well?
Our filter is designed to be used with municipal tap water. But if you choose to use this with well water, we suggest that you either boil or make sure your water is treated for any bacteria or viruses.

How often do you have to replace the filter?
It is recommended to change it every 2-3 months or after 120 gallons. There is a dial built into the pitcher that you set each time you change your filter.
Do I have to clean inside of dispenser once in a while? Is it easy to clean?
Yes, we recommend to clean the unit every 2-4 months or whenever you change your filter. Unit is easy to disassemble and all you need is the soft side of a sponge and some mild soap.
(Tip - we recommend keeping the unit away from sunlight since our filters remove all of the chlorine.)
How much is it to replace the filter?
The 120 Gallon Replacement filters for this unit are $49.00.
Is the container BPA free?
Yes, the entire unit is made from BPA free plastic and the filters are made from sugar cane plastic which is more eco friendly.
Does it remove fluoride?
OPTI's filters remove up to 80% of fluoride. We are always striving to improve our technology every day.
What are the dimensions?

Approximately how long does it take to filter?
The top reservoir for tap water is roughly 1 gallon and the bottom reservoir is 2 gallons. You can expect to filter about 1 gallon every 1 hour to 1.5 hours if you fill the top reservoir completely (the more water that is on the top, the more pressure there is = faster filtration).
So roughly about 2 hours to fill up the entire bottom reservoir (2 gallons). Our filter takes a little more time because of how tight our pores are. This allows us to filter out more than other brands and assure your water is safe.
WE RECOMMEND you refill the top basin regularly to make sure you always have water after each use.
Does this filter soften hard water to protect coffee machines from calcification problems?
No. OPTI allows natural beneficial trace minerals such as calcium and magnesium to pass through. These minerals are naturally found in water and is what makes OPTI's filtration unique.

Be sure to prime your filter with the priming syringe. If the problem persists, contact customer support and we will be happy to assist you.
Does the pitcher have to be refrigerated. I prefer to drink room temperature water
No, this does not need to be refrigerated. If you prefer you can keep it on your countertop or where ever it fits. Only thing we recommend is to keep it away from sunlight :)
Does the 200 gal filter fit into my 2 gal container? Can it replace my 120 gal filter?
We recommend the 120 gallon filter as the unit is created to have enough pressure for the smaller 120 gallon filter and not the larger 200 gallon filter.

How far I can fill the top up?
You can fill the top reservoir up completely. The top reservoir will prevent the bottom reservoir from "over filling" due to the way it is designed.

Does this actually hold 3 gallons of filtered water?
Yes, the bottom reservoir will hold up to 3 gallons of clean water. The top reservoir will hold roughly 1 gallon of dirty tap water.
Does this come with a stand?
Yes, this unit comes with the bottom stand you see in the picture (the portion below the spigot).

OPTI Flex
Does OPTI have a 5 gallon water jug or only a 3 gallon one?
Only 3 gallons currently. Please also keep in mind that most hot and cold dispensers also have a 1 gallon reserve built in which will round up the capacity to 4 gallons including the OPTI Flex.
We recommend keeping the top reservoir topped off if you are worried about not having enough water.
Will this work with a ceramic crock dispenser?
If a regular 5 gallon jug fits on the dispenser, this will fit. OPTI Flex comes with a float so the water will auto stop filtering once the ceramic pot is full.
Which water filter replacement should I use?
Our 200 gallon replacement filter is compatitable with our OPTI Flex unit.
Our 200 gallon filter is compatible with the OPTI Drop & OPTI Flex.
Will it work with bottom load dispensers?
No, but we are working on developing a product that will be compatible with bottom load systems.
What kind of dispenser can be used with this?
Any type of dispenser that fits a 5 gallon jug on the TOP (not a bottom load system).
How do you fill it and how long does the filter last?
Pour tap water into the Top basin.
Our filter lasts 200 gallons or rouhgly 3-4 months depending on usage.

Is this replacement filter supposed to rattle? It sounds like the carbon is loose and they advertise solid carbon?
Yes, the filter itself is solid Activated Coconut Carbon. The rattling noise you hear is additional media that is a part of their patented process. This aids in increasing the alkalinity and OPTImizing the water.
Does the 200 gal filter fit into my 2gal container? Can it replace my 120 gal filter?
We recommend the 120 gallon filter as the unit is created to have enough pressure for the smaller 120 gallon filter and not the larger 200 gallon filter.
How should I dispose of my Opti Chill water filter?
Our filters can be disposed of by placing them in the recycling bin. Our filters are made from activated coconut carbon and sugar cane plastic that will biodegrade over time.
